Trails in the city

To view a listing of trails within the City, visit the Elliot Lake page on TrailForks.  Please note, trails are recreational trails and some may have been added by Trail Forks Users. There is no winter maintenance provided by the City to the trails. All trails are use at own risk during the winter months (November - April).

Voyageur Hiking Trail

South of Elliot Lake, you can find the Voyageur Hiking Trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail network.

Mississagi Provincial Park

Hike the many trails within Mississagi Provincial Park. The trails range from 0.5 km to 22 km and are suitable for all skill levels.

Back Country Trails

Our area's thousands of lakes and unbelievable scenery provides amazing opportunities for ATVsnowmobile and other trail experiences. While you can find groomed trails within city limits, there are also many wilderness trails on Crown Land available to be explored.

You can access many of these trails at various areas throughout the City. All skill levels can explore these back country trails. You don't need to travel more than 15 minutes to find lakes and paths where you can be completely removed from everyday worries and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you.

We encourage you to travel at your own pace, but be aware that these trails are not groomed and have fewer signs to help lead you. If you are unfamiliar with the area we encourage you to walk or ride with someone who knows the area or engage with one of our trail groups to avoid getting lost.  Please respect all no trespassing requests.

Maintenance, Events and Trail Groups

Many different organizations and community groups maintain the trails in Elliot Lake. Some also offer programs and events that take place at different trails.  Visit groups like the Coureurs de Bois or the Elliot Lake XC Ski and Bike Club pages for more information!
