Fire Tower Lookout

You can now stream a live view from the
Elliot Lake Fire Tower

The Fire Tower Lookout is a highlight of any visit to Elliot Lake!

This photographer's paradise sits atop Fire Tower Rd, the highest point in the immediate Elliot Lake area, and is open seasonally. The lookout is home to the original ranger tower built in 1954, and is featured along the Deer Trail Driving Tour.

From the observation deck, visitors can enjoy a 180-degree panoramic view of scenic wilderness, our Elliot Lake subdivision and main street, and spot former mine sites that are now returned to their natural state. On clear days, you can see as far as Manitoulin Island on the North Channel of Lake Huron.  Sunrises and sunsets are particularly beautiful.

A recreation of the cupola that used to sit atop the 100 ft tower is accessible from the parking lot, and offers even more photo opportunities.

Visits to the Fire Tower Lookout in the fall are a must!  As the leaves change, visitors are treated all of the spectacular colours that Mother Nature offers!
